Mr. Dew founded Woodbine Analytics, LLC in 2022 after spending 18 years as a partner and senior analyst with Steck Consulting, LLC. There, he led several analysts and also directly supported the U.S. Department of Justice, U.S. Attorneys’ Offices, State Offices of Attorneys General, and private law firms primarily in False Claims Act (FCA) matters related to healthcare. Mr. Dew has served as a consulting expert in numerous matters and as a summary or testifying expert more than twenty FCA cases.
Prior to joining Steck Consulting, Mr. Dew was a senior scientist in the Informatics Research Group at Celera Genomics. There, he helped develop and run the Celera Assembler to assemble the fruit fly, human, mosquito and several bacteria genomes in addition to mouse chromosome 16. He also led the effort to release the Celera Assembler as open source software.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Dew worked primarily on software and systems research and development projects, some of which involved high performance computing on systems such as the Thinking Machines CM-5.
Mr. Dew has a B.A. in Mathematics and Psychology from the University of Virginia, an M.E. in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia, and an M.S. in Environmental Science from the Johns Hopkins University.
